In the proximal intestine, pancreatic enzymes degrade transcobalamin 1 (TCN1) to release cobalamins (RCbl). The two major pancreatic proteases are trypsins (PRSSs) and chymotrypsins (CTRBs) (Srikumar & Premalatha 2003, Nielsen et al. 2012).
