Activated PKN1 (p-T774-PKN1) phosphorylates CDC25C on serine residue S216. This leads to increased binding of CDC25C to 14-3-3 proteins, retention of CDC25C in the cytosol, and delayed mitotic entry (Misaki et al. 2001, Isigawa et al. 2005, Collazos et al. 2011).
