Reaction: ENPP6 hydrolyzes lysophosphatidylcholine

- in pathway: Glycerophospholipid catabolism
ENPP6 (Ectonucleotide pyrophosphatase/phosphodiesterase family member 6) associated with the plasma membrane catalyzes the hydrolysis of lysophosphatidylcholine to ChoP (phosphocholine) and MAG (monoacylglycerol), as demonstrated by characterization of the recombinant human protein expressed in cells in culture (Sakagami et al. 2005).
Reaction - small molecule participants:
ChoP [extracellular region]
MAG [extracellular region]
H2O [extracellular region]
lysophosphatidylcholine [plasma membrane]
