Mitochondrial malate dehydrogenase (MDH2) catalyzes the reversible reaction of oxaloacetate (OA) and NADH + H+ to form malate (MAL) and NAD+ (Luo et al. 2006). The active enzyme is a homodimer (Sanchez et al. 1998).
