Reaction: PCK1 phosphorylates OA to yield PEP

- in pathway: Gluconeogenesis
The transfer of a high-energy phosphate bond from GTP to oxaloacetate (OA), to form phosphoenolpyruvate (PEP), GDP, and CO2, is catalyzed by cytosolic phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase PCK1 (Dunten et al. 2002). This reaction is irreversible under physiological conditions.
Reaction - small molecule participants:
GDP [cytosol]
CO2 [cytosol]
PEP [cytosol]
GTP [cytosol]
OA [cytosol]
