Reaction: GNB1,3:GNG13:PLCB2:Ca2+ hydrolyzes PI(4,5)P2 to I(1,4,5)P3 and DAG

- in pathway: Sensory perception of sweet, bitter, and umami (glutamate) taste
The binding of the gustducin beta-gamma complex (GNB1,3:GNG13) to Phospholipase C beta-2 (PLCB2) activates its catalytic activity, resulting in hydrolysis of phosphoinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PI(4,5)P2) to yield diacylglycerol and inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate (I(1,4,5)P3) (inferred from mouse, rat, and bovine homologs).
Reaction - small molecule participants:
I(1,4,5)P3 [cytosol]
DAG [plasma membrane]
H2O [cytosol]
PI(4,5)P2 [plasma membrane]
